The first two weeks as a Nissan Innovation Specialist

I’m still in the Automotive trade but this is different. I’m still in the showroom but I do have an office now.

Nissan are heavily investing in altering the showroom dynamic and I’m delighted to be one of the first to ‘pioneer’ this challenge.

As you can see it is still very male dominated…

We are the first 15 out of a growing team of 50 ‘Innovation Specialists’ to join the UK dealer network. We are not sales people, yes you’ve heard me right, the majority of us are from a sales background but we are providing education without the sales pressure in the showroom.

As you can see from the picture, we are advocates for the Nissan Leaf- one of the first full electric vehicles to hit the market.

I have sat back and listened to lectures from people (I won’t name them) telling me I will fail, electric vehicles haven’t and will not work, it’s a waste of time, blah blah blah. *Red rag to a bull.*

The statistics, the investment and growth in infrastructure suggest otherwise. Not just in the UK, but globally. Have you seen Formula E?

I’m excited to be the first. I can fully embrace the vision. I agree with it.

Technology to enhance our environment, our lifestyles, our business and our relationships.

Watch this space.

    1. Thanks Gavin.
A lot of people have been likening electric cars to mobile phones. There were so many doubters when they first came out, battery issues, size, etc. Now look…!
It’s exciting to be a part of this technological revolution.
